Description
Manager, Industrial Integration
Full-time contract (24 months)
Who we are
Founded in 2023, Carbon Removal Canada is an independent non-profit accelerating the responsible scale-up of carbon removal technologies by advocating for impactful, research-backed policies, shaping Canada’s carbon removal market, and connecting the right people to the right information. We work with public and private actors to rapidly build the carbon removal industry. Together, we can position Canada as a global leader, unlocking investment for carbon removal, driving economic growth, and meeting our climate targets.
The Role
Industrial integration will be a key element of responsibly scaling carbon removal in Canada. The same forests, agricultural operations, and industrial facilities that power Canada’s economy are also some of the most promising venues for carbon removal at scale. Pairing carbon removal with existing feedstocks, byproducts, and infrastructure can turn environmental liabilities into climate assets, open new revenue streams for industry, and build the kind of integrated domestic supply chains that make Canada more economically resilient.
The Manager, Industrial Integration will help to advance Carbon Removal Canada’s work in this area. Reporting to the Director of Research, the role spans program design and delivery, research, and stakeholder engagement. The Manager will design and run initiatives, build our underlying knowledge base and network around industrial integration, and help to translate case studies into replication and progress across Canada.
What you’ll do
Program Design & Management
- Design, manage, and deliver industrial integration initiatives, including programs, tools, research projects, and stakeholder engagements
- Project manage the technical development of digital tools like the Carbon Console as relevant, including coordination with developers and data providers
- Coordinate reporting cycles, working sessions, and convenings with government and industry partners
Data Collection & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain a broad database of carbon removal solution providers relevant to industry
- Develop and operate mechanisms for connecting industry with solution providers such as platforms, workshops, and roundtables
- Document connections and outcomes as case studies to inform Carbon Removal Canada’s broader research and policy work
Research & Knowledge Translation
- Conduct ongoing research into carbon removal technologies and deployment, and their applicability to Canadian industrial sectors
- Research industrial emitters and key sectors to inform high-priority opportunities for integration
- Track provincial and federal funding streams, policy developments, and infrastructure relevant to industrial decarbonization
- Translate technical concepts for industry, government, and other stakeholders unfamiliar with carbon removal
What we’re looking for
All candidates must have:
- 5+ years of program management experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, ideally with government and/or industry partners
- Working knowledge of carbon removal and CCUS technologies
- Strong research skills, including the ability to investigate technologies, providers, sectors, and policy environments and synthesize findings into clear, decision-ready outputs
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of building trust with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent written communication and reporting skills
- High degree of independence, sound judgment, and comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
You’ll really impress us if:
- You have direct experience working with Canadian climate, energy, or industrial decarbonization stakeholders
- You have an existing network within Canadian industrial and/or carbon management sectors (e.g. cement, steel, forestry, agriculture, mining)
- You have hands-on experience with industrial processes, carbon removal or CCUS deployment
